How to use

  1. Choose the pay period and a start date. The sheet builds one row per day, grouped into work weeks.
  2. Enter in, out and unpaid break minutes for each day. Pick a rate per day if you use more than one rate.
  3. Set overtime rules and the work week start in Options. Totals, week subtotals and pay update live. Export, print or share.

Worked example: A bi-weekly period with one overtime week

Dan is paid every two weeks. In week one he works 9 hours a day Monday to Friday, 45 hours. In week two he works 8 hours Monday to Thursday and 6 hours Friday, 38 hours.

Overtime is figured per fixed 7-day work week, never across the whole period. Week one has 40 regular and 5 overtime hours. Week two has 38 regular hours and no overtime, even though the period total of 83 hours is over 80.

At $18.00 per hour: 78 regular hours × $18.00 = $1,404.00, plus 5 × $27.00 = $135.00 overtime, a gross of $1,539.00.

Frequently asked questions

Which pay periods are supported?

Weekly, bi-weekly (14 days), semi-monthly (1st to 15th and 16th to month end), monthly and a custom date range up to 62 days.

How is overtime handled across a period?

Overtime is computed per fixed 7-day work week, which is independent of the pay period. A semi-monthly period that starts mid-week uses the "hours already worked in the first week" field so that week is not undercounted.

What if a week straddles two periods?

Enter the hours already worked earlier in that week in Options. They count toward the 40-hour weekly threshold but are not paid again on this sheet.

How do multiple rates work?

Turn on multiple rates, add each rate, and pick the rate per day. If more than one rate is used in a work week, overtime pay uses the weighted average rate: all hours at their own rate plus 0.5 × the average for each overtime hour, per 29 CFR 778.115.

Can I track several employees?

Yes. Turn on Employees to add tabs, one per person, each with its own rows and name. The result card shows the active employee and a team total. Export includes everyone.

Does it round punches?

Optionally. Rounding applies to each punch, not totals, and the unrounded total is shown alongside.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The timesheet is saved in your browser and share links carry the data in the URL itself.

How do I print a timesheet for signatures?

Use Print. The sheet includes name, period, daily rows, totals and employee and manager signature lines on one page.
