For a period that starts mid-week, so weekly overtime is correct.

How to use

  1. Set the period start date to generate two weeks of rows.
  2. Enter the in and out punch for each day and the lunch minutes to subtract.
  3. Add a rate and overtime rules. Totals and pay update live; print or export when done.

Worked example: Ten days with a 30-minute lunch

Each day punches 8:00 AM in and 4:30 PM out with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. That is 8 hours 30 minutes on the clock minus 30 minutes, 8 hours worked.

Ten working days make 80 hours, 40 in each week, so there is no overtime. At $16.00 per hour gross pay is 80 × $16.00 = $1,280.00. Had lunch been entered as paid it would not be deducted and each week would show 42.5 hours with 2.5 hours of overtime.

Frequently asked questions

Is lunch deducted automatically?

Enter the unpaid lunch minutes per day. For automatic deduction after a threshold, turn on auto-deduct in Options and the sheet notes each day it applied.

Can I enter lunch as punches instead of minutes?

Use the Time Clock Calculator, which accepts break start and end punches and validates that they fall inside the shift.

How does weekly overtime work with two weeks?

Each 7-day work week is evaluated on its own. Overtime in week one is not cancelled by a short week two.

What formats can I type?

800, 8:00, 8a, 4:30 pm, 1630 all work. In 12-hour mode without a suffix 7 to 11 is AM and 12 to 6 is PM.

Can I print it as a time card?

Yes. Print produces a one-page punch card with daily rows, totals and signature lines.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Rows stack on small screens and every control is at least 44 pixels tall.
