How to use

  1. Set the week start and date, then add employees with their hourly rates.
  2. Fill in start, end and break for each shift in the grid.
  3. Watch hours per person and per day, overtime flags and total labor cost update live; export the grid.

Worked example: Two employees, one over 40

Ana works 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute break Monday to Saturday: 8 hours × 6 = 48 hours. Ben works the same shift Monday to Friday: 40 hours.

At $18.00 Ana costs 40 × $18.00 + 8 × $27.00 = $936.00 and is flagged over 40 hours. Ben costs $720.00. Scheduled total 88 hours, labor cost $1,656.00, 8 hours of projected overtime.

Frequently asked questions

How is labor cost estimated?

Each employee's hours use the federal rule: 1.5x after 40 hours in the week. State daily rules are not applied here.

What does the red total mean?

That person is scheduled over 40 hours and will earn overtime.

Can shifts cross midnight?

Yes. An end time earlier than the start is counted into the next day.

How many employees?

Add as many rows as you need; the grid scrolls sideways on small screens.

Can I reuse last week?

The grid is saved in this browser; change the date and edit what differs.

Can I export the schedule?

CSV or Excel with one row per employee and a per-day total row.
