How to use
- Choose whether hours are per week, month or year; the full-time figure fills in (40, 173.33 or 2,080) and can be changed.
- Enter hours per employee or group, one row each.
- Read the FTE per row and the total FTE for the team.
Worked example: Three employees
With full time at 40 hours a week: 40 hours is 1.00 FTE, 20 hours is 0.50 and 32 hours is 0.80. Total 92 hours ÷ 40 = 2.30 FTE across 3 people.
Per year the same team is 4,784 hours ÷ 2,080 = 2.30 FTE. The ratio does not change with the period as long as both numbers use the same one.
Frequently asked questions

Yes if they work more than full-time hours; many organizations cap it at 1.0 for reporting.
Can I round the result?
The result shows two decimals; round further according to your reporting rules.
Can I export the rows?
Yes, CSV, Excel or copy.
