How to use
- Paste punches, one in/out pair per line, separated by a comma, space, dash or "to".
- Choose the rounding interval, your hourly rate and how many weeks the sample covers.
- Read the per-line and total difference, the dollar effect, and the yearly projection.
Worked example: A one-week sample
Five lines such as "8:52 am, 5:07 pm" and "9:08 am - 5:38 pm" with 15-minute rounding. Each line shows actual minutes, rounded minutes and the difference. Suppose the week nets −9 minutes.
At $22.00 per hour that is −$3.30 for the week. Over 52 weeks the projection is −468 minutes, about −7.8 hours or −$171.60, which is the kind of systematic loss a rounding policy must avoid.
Frequently asked questions
What formats can I paste?
Any clock times the site understands: 8:52 am, 852a, 0852, 17:07. Separate the pair with a comma, tab, dash or the word "to".
What does a negative total mean?
Rounded time is less than actual time; the employee is losing minutes.
How is the yearly projection made?
Total difference ÷ weeks in the sample × 52. It is a straight-line estimate.
Why is rounding allowed at all?
The FLSA permits rounding to the nearest 5, 6 or 15 minutes if, over time, it does not consistently favor the employer.
Lines that cannot be read?
They are skipped and not counted; the row count tells you how many were used.
Does anything leave my browser?
