How to use

  1. Type a duration on each line: 1:30, 1h 30m, 90m or 1.5 all mean an hour and a half. Tap the plus sign to make a line subtract.
  2. Use the multiplier to repeat a line, for example 45 min × 12 shifts, or paste a whole column of durations from a spreadsheet.
  3. Add an hourly rate to see pay. The total updates live in H:MM:SS, decimal hours and minutes, and exports to CSV or Excel.

Worked example: Three jobs and a cancelled hour

A tutor logs 1:30, 2:15 and 0:45 for three lessons, then subtracts 1:00 for a session that was billed in error. In seconds that is 5,400 + 8,100 + 2,700 − 3,600 = 12,600 seconds, which the calculator shows as 3:30:00 or 3.50 hours.

At $40.00 per hour the pay is 12,600 × 4,000 cents ÷ 3,600 = 14,000 cents, or $140.00. Pay is rounded once from integer seconds, so pasting 30 lines never drifts by a cent.

Frequently asked questions

What formats can I type?

H:MM, H:MM:SS, 90m, 1h 30m, 45 min, 2 hours, or a plain number which is read as hours. A leading minus sign subtracts.

How is decimal time calculated?

Total seconds divided by 3,600, rounded half-up to two decimals at display time. 20 minutes shows as 0.33 and 40 minutes as 0.67.

Can I subtract time?

Yes. Toggle the plus sign in front of a line to a minus, or type a negative duration such as -0:30.

How does the multiplier work?

Each line is multiplied before it is added, so 45 min × 12 counts as 9 hours. Decimals are allowed, 1.5 × a line is fine.

Does pasting from Excel work?

Paste a column of durations, one per line, into the paste box and press the button. Each line becomes its own row that you can label or remove.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Lines are saved in your browser only and the share link stores the compressed state in the URL.
