How to use
- Enter the start and end date, and choose whether the end day counts.
- Pick the holiday country and tap the weekend days that apply to you. Add any company holidays as extra dates.
- Switch to "Add business days" to find the date N working days after a start, for example a 10-business-day deadline.
Worked example: A 10-business-day deadline from Friday 3 July 2026
3 July 2026 is the observed Independence Day holiday, and the following Monday starts the count. Ten business days later is Friday 17 July 2026.
Counting the other way, from Monday 2 March 2026 to Monday 9 March 2026 is 5 business days with the end day excluded, or 6 with it included. Add a holiday on Wednesday 4 March and the count drops to 4.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a business day?
Any day that is not a selected weekend day and not a public holiday in the chosen country or your extra list. Saturday and Sunday are the default weekend.
Where do the holidays come from?
From the Nager.Date public holiday API for 100+ countries, fetched by your browser and cached for 30 days. The US list is also built in as an offline fallback and was verified against the OPM schedule.
Can I add company or regional holidays?
Yes. Paste dates as YYYY-MM-DD, one per line, in the extra holidays box. They are saved with the rest of your inputs.
Does adding business days skip holidays too?
Yes. Both counting and adding use the same weekend and holiday rules.
Why is my count one less than I expected?
The end day is excluded by default, matching a date subtraction. Turn on "Include end day" for inclusive counting.
Is half a day supported?
No, the calculator works in whole days. For hours, use the Time Duration Calculator.
